Stephen Gyllenhaal, the author of the film "In Utero" is starting to bring Identity oriented Psychotraumatheory and -therapy to the United States.

Here is a letter from him, with important informations:

"I’ve encountered a new form of therapy out of Germany that I am now bringing to the United States as the foundation of my new practice.

It’s call IoPT (Identity-Oriented Psychotrauma Therapy) and it has been sweeping across Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and parts of South America. It has yet to hit the U.S. shores, but that’s about to change.

You can visit the newly created IoPT-USA website to learn more.

I will also be sponsoring two major events in Los Angeles in the coming year, surrounding my work as a therapist and my conviction that IoPT therapy is the most effective method of addressing and resolving early trauma.

From December 28th through January 1st, Marta Thorsheim, one of the most sought after therapists in Scandinavia, will be conducting workshops and group therapy sessions in Los Angeles.

Then, on August 17th and 18th, the founder of IoPT therapy, Dr. Franz Ruppert (Professor of Psychology, Munich University of Applied Sciences), will come to Los Angeles to lecture and also supervise workshops and group sessions. He will then be hosted by IoPT-USA in San Francisco on August 24th and 25th.

Anyone and everyone is invited to all events - professionals, newcomers, and especially those in need. I will be sending more details about all of this in the very near future.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been more excited about a “premiere” as I am about this new chapter in my life, and I am delighted to share it with you.

My very warmest,

Stephen
